The 1st Annual Joey Uvalle 3v3 Soccer Classic in 2006 was a huge success thanks to a group of very special people. Joey is an alumnus of Bishop Moore High School and sustained a catastrophic spinal chord injury while attending Florida State University. The moms, dads, teachers, coaches, friends and family of the Bishop Moore community organized a 3v3 Soccer Fund-raiser to help Joey with his treatment and defray medical costs. The participation in the Classic by the soccer community was outstanding! Club and Recreational teams from the Central Florida area entered the event and were provided with competitive groupings. This charity event also offered an adult category and an opportunity for competition beyond the U-18 age group. This was a first in the State of Florida and it was awesome! We saw college players, coaches, and adults playing in this charity event.
