General 3v3 Tournament Information

FUNDRAISER:

The Joey Uvalle 3 v 3 Soccer Classic is a “dedicated” fundraiser designed to support the Joseph Adam Uvalle Trust Fund.  All of the proceeds from this event are deposited into the trust fund that provided medical care, education and financial care for Joey Uvalle.  With that in mind all participants and spectators are thanked for all of your support.  A “one time” $5 Spectator Donation will be collected at the first site you enter.  All Players and Coaches are Free.  If you are opposed to paying this spectator donation, please just politely let us know…we will understand.

PARKING:

Parking at Bishop Moore could be difficult due to the number of people attending this event, so arrive early and car pool as best as you can.  Additional parking is available on the side streets across from Bishop Moore and at the St. Charles Church after 12 pm.

Game Schedule:

The schedule contains the starting time of your game, field in which the game is being played and the opponent who you are playing.  All of the teams are separated by age groups and pools in which they are assigned too.

There are 3 Sites in which games will be played for this tournament:

Site #1 - Bishop Moore Soccer Field (BM)

Site #2 – St. Charles Soccer Field (SC)

Site #3 – Bishop Moore Practice Field (BMPF)

A total of 15 Soccer Fields will be used for all games played during the day.

Each game will have two halves of 12 minutes each and a 4 minute half time.  A total of 15 minutes will separate games.  In most cases you will have a sufficient break between games, but there are a few situations where you may have to play shortly after completing a game.

FAQ   3V3 - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - 3V3

Q - How can I get my special questions answered?

A - First please read the information provided here and on the main page of our web site.  If you can't find the information you need, email or call Tournament Director Dave Arnott at 246-2944 or 321-228-9238, Dave.Arnott@cityoforlando.net

Q - What are acceptable forms of Proof of Age?

A - Any one of the following are acceptable - Player pass, passport, copy of birth certificate or driver’s license.

Q - Can a goal be scored from anywhere on the field?

A - NO, it must be last touched (by either team) in the OFFENSIVE half of the field.  On a kickoff, the ball is not considered to start in the offensive half of the field.  It must roll forward so that it is completely in the offensive half before it can be shot straight into the goal

Q - Who has to be at Check-in?

A - Check-in is Sunday morning; the whole team should attend and check-in at least 1 hour before the team’s first game.

Q - Can I change my roster after I send it in?

A - Yes, you can add a player (if there were less than 6 on the original roster) or replace 1 or more players (as long as they are the right age and skill level for the team you entered) any time until the beginning of your first game.  Just print another application, fill it out completely and bring to check-in along with proof of age for the new player(s).

Q - How many games are we guaranteed?

A - At least 3 possibly 5 and maybe 6 for divisions with a lot of teams

Q - When will schedules be available?

A- Friday May 4th on our website.  Other copies will be available at the tournament.

Q - Is the Maximum Roster size 5 or 6?  I have seen both listed for different 3v3 tournaments

A - Some 3v3 tournaments have a maximum roster size of 5 players. The maximum roster size for the Joey Uvalle 3v3 Soccer Classis is 6 players.  5 players are recommended if all players will be available for the entire tournament.

Q - How do I get to the tournament venue and Check-in Site?

A - We have a link on the tournament web page showing the location of the venue/site and check-in site.

Q- How late can we enter teams?

A - The deadline (for guaranteed acceptance) is shown on the web site.  After that date, teams can still apply, however the possibility of being shut out increases because age groups fill up.

Q- What are the uniform requirements?

A - Teams must wear similar colored jerseys and each team must have a dark and light colored set.  Numbers are not required, and the Jerseys do not have to be identical, just close enough so that it is clear that the players are on the same team

Q- What is the rule for a restart on an indirect kick?

A - A restart from an indirect kick follows the same rules in 3v3 as in full-sided soccer.  On a kickoff, the ball is not considered to start in the offensive half of the field.  It must roll forward so that it is completely in the offensive half before it can be shot straight into the goal

Q- Shin Guards -

A - All players are required to wear Shin Guards.  Shin guards must be covered by a sock.  Players without Shin guards will not be permitted to play.

Q- Substitution -

A - Teams may substitute during any stoppage of play with the approval of the referee.  All substitutes must enter the field at the midline.   The player leaving the field may go directly to the nearest part of the team sideline.
